My name is Faye Brownbridge. I am a recently retired teacher. I am also a wife, proud mother of five, doting grandmother and life-long lover of learning.

My passion for reading goes back to my childhood when I would sneak a book under the covers at night and read with a flash light. I'm still known to spend an entire night reading a book that I just can't put down. Needless to say, I wear glasses and am definitely a night owl.

I enjoy all kinds of literature, but historical and mystical/fantasy fiction are what I turn to for relaxation. Authors Pauline Gedge and Glenna McReynolds write the kinds of books that I enjoy. One of the best books I recently read was The Poisonwood Bible  by Barbara Kingsolver and, like so many, I loved The Davinci Code.

As well as having taught almost every grade during my teaching career, I was also a program specialist providing support and mentoring for teachers. I specialized in Language Arts instruction and meeting the needs of learning disabled students and later moved into the area of technology and its use in the classroom.

I keep busy with contract work in web site and graphic design and computer support. And I have provided consulting services for Language Arts and Technology, giving presentations and workshops for teacher's conventions, various conferences and several Alberta school districts

Since my retirement 2003 I am thoroughly enjoying the freedom that freelancing provides, especially the freedom to travel.  Some of the more exotic places my husband and I have recently visited are Egypt, Kenya, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates and most recently, South Africa, Zambia and Botswana.
